How do I add a new recipient?

Click in the 'To' field, begin typing and then select 'Add New Recipient.' Then, if sending to their mobile wallet or for cash pickup, enter your recipient's full legal name, their phone number, and click 'Save'. If sending to a bank account, enter your recipient's full legal name, choose their bank from the drop down menu, enter their account number, and click 'Save.'

How secure is Sendwave?

Sendwave takes the security of your personal data extremely seriously. We encode all data as soon as it is entered in the app and send it over an encrypted 128-bit connection.

How long does my refund take?

This depends on your bank's relationship with our debit card processor - some refunds can be processed immediately but others can take up to 10 business days.

How do I reset my password?

When prompted for your password, just take a guess, and if it's incorrect you'll see a button to reset your password via mobile or email.

How do I know funds are delivered?

We will send you an email and update the transaction state to 'Delivered' on the Transactions screen as soon as the funds arrive to your recipient's mobile. If a transaction requires review for regulatory reasons, we will contact you immediately.

How do I know my funds are safe?

We are licensed in every country we operate in as a money transmitter business. Plus, because we send the money, your funds aren't stored in our bank accounts, but moved quickly to your recipient.

Where can I send money from/to?

Sendwave allows you to make fast, affordable money transfers from countries in North America and Europe (USA, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and Ireland) to countries in Africa, Asia, The Americas and Lebanon. Using the Sendwave app, you can quickly send funds from Visa or MasterCard debit cards and PostePay cards in Italy and Correos cards in Spain. We send to mobile wallets and bank accounts in multiple counties, please see country pages for specific details.

How much money can I send?

Every sender has maximum limits on how much they can send per day and per month. These are called sending limits. You can view your daily and monthly sending limits, as well as your usage, by going to the Menu and tapping on My Limits. If you are a sender in the US, UK or EU, you do not need to take any action to raise your sending limits. Your sending limits will be automatically raised as soon as you are eligible. If you are a sender in Canada, once you are eligible to request higher sending limits, you can make a request through your My Limits page. Our team will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible. Note: Due to Thailand’s domestic regulations, you can only send up to 50,000 THB at a time in one transfer.

How do I verify my email?

You should get an email from us with a link to click to be sure we have the right contact info. If not, please check in the 'Personal Info' section of the app to make sure your email address is correct and update it if not to get our email. If you still don't see it, please check in Spam or search for 'Sendwave' in your email.

How do I use a new card?

Go into 'Payment Info', delete the card that is in there and then input and save your new card - now you're set!

Can I use a credit card or PayPal?

No. We only accept debit cards because they charge us lower fees, which allows us to pass those savings onto you! (We do accept Italian Postepay and Spanish Correos prepaid debit cards)

What does 'Card Error' mean?

This often just means you don't have good enough internet service to save your card, or the app needs to be upgraded to the latest version from the App Store/Play Store.

How does SMS Login work?

If you turn on SMS login from the Settings/Me page, you will be texted an SMS verification code to your mobile anytime you log into Sendwave. This two-factor authentication provides an extra layer of security for your Sendwave account.

What are your fees and rates?

Sendwave charges no or low fees in all markets it serves, saving you tons of money each time you send! For countries where there is no fee, like Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Bangladesh, we just make a small percentage on the exchange rate that you see on the main page of the app. For countries where there is a fee, like Liberia, we aim to keep our rates low and ensure sending remains affordable.

Why do you collect my Social Security/Identification information?

As a registered money transmitter, Sendwave needs to confirm our users’ identity - we do it to protect your money, and to ensure that your Sendwave account is not compromised. You should only be asked for this upon your first TX.

Does Sendwave send an SMS to the recipient?

No, Sendwave will not send the recipient a delivery SMS. Recipients will receive a message from their carrier once the transaction is successful and funds have been added to their mobile wallet (if they have subscribed to SMS alerts from their carrier)

How much are the fees for sending money to Lebanon?

There is no fee when sending to Lebanon from France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Canada and Ireland. When sending from the US, the payable fee is 2.6% of your transfer amount and the fee is capped at $20.

How long will it take to deliver my funds to Lebanon?

After you send your transfer, your funds will be ready for collections within minutes at any Whish Money agent location. Occasionally, the cash pick up agents may face difficulties that will delay the transaction. Please be mindful of the operating hours of Whish Money locations. Sendwave's goal is to have your funds arrive at their destination as soon as possible.

What information do I need to enter for the recipient in Lebanon?

You’ll need to enter your recipient’s full legal name, phone number and provide your ‘reason for sending’ the transfer. For ‘reason for sending’ you may choose from the list of options provided in the app. Please confirm your recipient information to ensure you are sending to the correct recipient.
